| Civilians | You opinions please. I am considering implementing a WYSIWYG editor into our system so complete no knowledge users can create HTML files in a WYSIWYG enviroment. It needs to be able to open, edit and save html files to a specific directory and must be usable in all browsers and OS's. Which would be better in your opinion, Java or Flash? Only two choices? I suppose it depends on the complexity, but I would do it server-side. -- Charles Sweeney http://CharlesSweeney.com |

There a JS tools (free) that let you drag and drop create web content, text formatting and image formatting. None of this could be done server side. The save function would simply be a form-post, which would be handled server side (file creation etc). |

The reason I thought flash or java was because once loaded into a browser, it does exactly what it should, hopefully. Richard Grove www.redeyemedia.co.uk www.shopmaker.co.uk |

It's JS, but while I haven't tested it extensively yet, I did check it out in the major browsers, and it seems to do just fine. http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ -- Alan Little Phorm PHP Form Processor http://www.phorm.com/ |

This seems to open a single file only. Thanks though. Richard Grove www.redeyemedia.co.uk www.shopmaker.co.uk |
