| Civilians | Would appreciate some help regarding shopping cart software and my future website. I am wanting to compile a website and sell a few products on my site. My big obstacle at the moment is,I am having a hard time understanding the use and how to use shopping cart software on my website. If I use my web hosting companies software, how do I connect that software with my products and get everything to work smoothly.Or is the proper way of using a shopping cart software is to compile the website with the software already integrated in the web site and then upload the whole website afterwards. Could some explain the process or direct me to further reading.Thanx |

Most (good) cart software allows two ways to insert your products. Either manually through an administration tool, or through uploading comma-seperated database file. If you only have a few products, and it's a new piece of software to you, you should use their manual tool. That way, you get used to the interface and can play around with the features a bit more. Check the documentation provided with the cart software for more details. You may want to post what cart software you're using or considering so you can get more specific help if needed. -- Arccos http://www.landoflyrics.com |
