Default Help determining what to charge for text ads

I was recently contacted by someone who wants to place some text ads on my
site. They are asking how much it would be.

The problem is that I have no idea how to charge. This isn't a CPC or CPM
campaign, and I've never priced an ad which is essentially just a link.

Any advice on how to do this? Thanks...

Usually they are doing this for the sake of google - it depends on the PR of
your site (for that subject) ... I mean if your no1 for laptops, and they
sell laptops, you can charge a STUPID amount ... However a normal site,
linking to another site - no idea ...

No automated system can tell you how much to charge. There are so many
factors it can't know. The one you cited says it does not take
"traffic" into account. Naturally, it has no way of knowing what the
make-up, quantity and aspirations of your visitors is.

There are so many factors to be considered here, that frankly I can't be
bothered to begin listing them.

True. AND the advice you get here is worth exactly the amount that you paid
for it.
