Default Cruel joke?

I am convinced that guru.com is a cruel joke. I have "bid" on dozens of
jobs and have yet to even receive a nibble, a question, or an
acknowledgement of my existence. Even jobs posted that fit me to a tee,
that require onsite work in my local zip code, where I am practically
giving my time away... nothing!

Am I right: guru.com is a black hole?

I suspect many of those "jobs" are recruiters collecting resumes to pad
their pocket.

"I have 10,000 web designers available immediately"...

It ranks right up there with craigslist. Lots of work, little pay.

I turned down 2 jobs I found at craigslist when I found the offer to be
1/4 of my normal rates.

yeah, similar findings. somehow there's always some starving to death
developer with no self esteem grabbing it all.

someone who fits the "php/mysql guru, expert html, javascript, flash,
photoshop, illustrator, c++, autocad, .net, asp, coldfusion who will dance
naked and make us lunch for $10/hr" bill.
