The only so-called "web-safe" fonts are the generic (fallback) font family names used in CSS; "serif", "sans-serif", "cursive", "fantasy" and "monospace". You should use the Webcore fonts http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Font-HOWTO/fonts.html#msfonts And define also default websafe family fonts recommended by the W3C (serif, sans-serif, icon, monospace, etc...) -- Charles.
