Default DOT WS Domains?

I have a question. What do you all think of the .ws extension for
domains? Do you know of a business that has one? Do you think it will
confuse customers? They appear to be nice because they are easy to
remember and unlike the .com's everything I can think of is available.
There are some great names available for a business idea I have that
are not available as .com. I just dont know if I should go with the .ws
or find a less brandable / rememberable .com. What are your thoughts?

Oh here is an example of a .ws distributor website.

I wouldn't do it. When people type in an address, they will typically
go with .com, .net or .org, not .ws.

Not all of live in the U S of A. Over here we often add a .au

Comes with the territory.

I guess those people who live in Western Somoa would add a .ws :-)

Cheers
Richard.

Just like we usually go for .nl, even before .com a lot of times.
My kids already figured out that there are a lot of "punt-en-el"s in
the world, they haven't yet heard of "punt-com".

I think there is great potential for confusing customers. However, if
all your visitors come from links, then it doesn't matter what your name
is.

I think they're just dandy for Western Samoan businesses.
