Default Simple free replacement for Hoover buttons ?

Since java-based hoover buttons cannot be shown on many browsers, I am
looking for an relatively attractive alternative that is easy to replace for
a non-nerd like me.
If it is free I will jump with joy.

If it does not exist, what is the best site to download free "normal"
buttons with the possibility of writing your own text on them ?
The free ones I have seen have only standard text on them (forward, back,
home, etc) and then you have to buy those with possibility of writing on
them.

www.aarhusguitarfestival.dk is my site.

Peter

Default Re: Simple free replacement for Hoover buttons ?

I have seen hoover buttons on hoover vacuums. If one spills coffee on
the buttons, they will become java enabled.

If you like buttons, here are some alternatives to Java:

*Plain text links--simple and they always work.

*Image buttons--make your own suing image programs. I have used Paint
that comes Windows (Programs-->Accessories). Make sure you save
as/convert to GIF instead of BMP to reduce file size.

*Use CSS to make your own rich text buttons.

* Use javascript for menu buttons.

Hint: google for HTML/Javascript/CSS buttons
