Default Most hated website

Mine has to be www.odeon.co.uk, one of, if not the, largest cinema chain(s)
in the UK.

Firstly, it doesn't work in Firefox.
Secondly, the scroll bars don't work in the normal way. You have to hover
over the up/down arrows. Very annoying.
Thirdly, if you choose a film, then cinema, it'll forget what film you
wanted.
Lastly, horrid looking too.

An unbelievably bad effort, and am amazed they haven't upgraded it over the
last few years.

Mine would be FEMA, which is not only bad, but actually bars
many hurricane disaster victims from access because it will only allow
the IE browser. The disaster relief forms are about 7 pages in, instead
of on the opening page. Truly, truly idiotic work by W's cronys.
My grumblings about this at:

The FEMA site is at:

LOL, and that's without even *looking* at the site :-)

Cheers
Richard.

There is a funny story behind this. It quickly got a reputation for being
unusable and inaccessible, so one enterprising soul wrote a site that
provided access to all the same information, making it easier to find out
about films and make bookings. It was tolerated by Odeon at first, but
eventually I think it became a bit humiliating for them so they brought the
lawyers in and closed the site down. AFAIK, they had finally bitten the
bullet and had started a re-write, and had this in mind when they acted. But
when the improved site was brought in, it was virually the same: the same
look (fair enough) but the same accessibility and usability problems. And
AFAIK online bookings have never picked up....

Opera identified as IE is allowed in. Opera still spoofs itself as IE
(with "Opera [xx]" appended to the end of the UA string) by default, so I
suspect the bulk of complaints would come from Firefox/Mozilla users.

I didn't traverse all the dialogues to see if Opera could successfully
complete the forms though.

Yes, I just tried it with the new free Opera, and was able to get
through. Still can't get through with firefox, though, and the page
is buried 6- 7 pages in, and behind one of those 'type the letters'
monstrosities. With firefox just after typing in the letters I get:
"In order to use this site, you must have JavaScript Enabled and
Internet Explorer version 6. Download it from Microsoft or call
1-800-621-FEMA (3362) to register."
