Default Dedicated hosting recommendations

Can anyone recommend any dedicated unmanaged hosting service(s)?

I would prefer independent recommendations based on actual experience with
the company if possible, so if you or someone you know have used the
service and are happy with it, I would much appreciate your recommendation
to compare various available offers.

My requirements are 100GB storage and around 2000GB data transfer p/month
and of course a reliable and fast connection. Ongoing need for support
would be minimal if any at all.

I think you will get better advice using http://webhostingtalk.com/
I would take a look at www.theplanet.com or www.ev1servers.net - from what I
know they get pretty good reviews from their customers, and they have killer
internet connections.

I prefer Sonic.net
Ive known them from BBS to national. They always do more than I would ever
expect any service to do. They are priced in a way that I consider "for the
long haul" and I know they put the money back into stability so Im not
bothered that some would consider them priced abit high.

And after I kept making comments they have finally taken care of my last
little peeve. They have TRUE primary/secondary DNS. Not only very different
traceroutes (which I was pressing for) but actually on seperate coasts
(above and beyond).

I use www.sagonet.com and find them excellent.

Their support is excellent with very fast response, I know you see the need
for that as minimal but we all do screw up things from time to time and
Murphy's Law says that the time you screw up will always be the time you
need the fastest response.

They also have their own forum on their website where you can read users
problems and experiences, warts and all, which always impresses me with a
company.

Yipes! That surprises me. I suppose anyone can have hardware issues, but not being able to distinguish which server is which
is very scary.

I just bought a dedicated box with Sagonet.com and so far I'm very
happy. They are in the process of installing the OS for me, before they
hand over.

Dell PowerEdge with 2 x 160gb discs, 3ghz p4, 1gb ram, 2000gb per month
transfer and no restrictions on content ("so long as it is legal"). 24
hour support and a dell hardware contract on the physical machine. $184
a month, including a Windows Server 2003 license, but no other software
(I'll add Tomcat, PHP and MySQL myself). They seem to have a good
reputation, and they answered all me pre-sales techie quieries
lightening-fast. Judging by their forum, they seem pretty good. So
far...
