Default Different tag needed for ner browser?

Hi -

I'm searching for a help in understanding a problem I'm having with IE 5.2.3
for Mac. Sorry if it's OT --maybe someone can direct me to another source
if it is.

I'm one of those silly people who makes personal web pages for fun. I write
them in html, and most of them use embedded music, either midi files or
mp3's. I have not run into any problems with using the same tag for
different browsers, but I'm wondering if that might be the problem I'm
having with my latest version of IE not playing the music files on my sites.
AFAIK there is no other problem. My older IE plays them, my Safari plays
them, and my Netscape plays them. I have checked to see that the new IE is
enabled for audia. I have not yet examined the source codes of other sites
with imbedded midis, but if I find some that will play, I will certainly do
that.

Is anyone who posts here aware of needing to use different tags to play
imbedded music in different browsers, especially the one I'm having the
problem with?

TIA,

Diana
