Ext. 227 POSITION: User Interface Analyst STATUS: 6 months contract LOCATION: GTA JOB No: 11081 DESCRIPTION: The roles of the User Interface Analyst are to prototype, design, and build graphic user interfaces (GUIs) for software development, web interface and other applications. This includes capturing user requirements through collaboration with business analysts, leading and participating in testing sessions, and coordinating final implementation of the GUI based on feedback. Use of a variety of Web and software development languages is required. Responsibilities: a.. Conceive and model user interface prototypes based on collected user requirements, test cases, and development objectives. b.. Design high-level flow diagrams and GUI form charts for use in GUI specifications and architectures. c.. Collaborate with business with business analysts, Web designers, and software developers to ensure prototypes can be efficiently implemented. d.. Code, install, and debug user interfaces using appropriate tools or editors. e.. Define and develop current GUI style standards, as well as remain knowledgeable about emerging GUI standards and trends. f.. Identify, recommend, and prioritize new user interface features and applications in conjunction with end user requirements or business needs. g.. Work with business analysts, Web designers, and software developers to collect and determine user requirements. h.. Plan and implement usability tests throughout development lifecycle and analyze results for resolving GUI-design issues. i.. Present and conduct reviews of user interface designs with project managers, stakeholders, and other involved parties. j.. Conduct research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of GUI development efforts. k.. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with proprietary or internally developed user interfaces. l.. Document design, testing, and requirements-gathering processes and procedures. Position Requirements: a.. College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, computer/graphic design, or human-computer interaction, and /or 4 years equivalent work experience. b.. In-depth knowledge of GUI prototyping tools, software design, Web development technologies, and protocols. c.. Proven experience in human-computer interaction and usability analysis. d.. Thorough understanding of application development methodologies. e.. Strong understanding of Internet programming languages, including HTML, DHTML, JSP. f.. Experience with computer graphics and multimedia design. g.. Comprehensive experience with structuring, developing, and implementing software applications and interactive corporate Web sites. h.. Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements. i.. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. j.. Excellent written and technical writing skills. k.. Highly self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. l.. Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and programming languages. m.. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user friendly language. n.. Keen attention to detail. o.. Proven analytical and problem solving abilities. p.. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. q.. Very strong customer service orientation. r..
