Default need some advice (woking on a site)

First I would like you to check the site I need help with...

its on Croatian, but since I am concerned with the design that should
not be a problem

link: www.spreha.net

now.... the site is about nightlife in my city, and some topics for
young people... nothing fancy

my question is... is the design a bit to static or boring?

i was thinking, maybe it is a bit too static and that I should make
some changes...

would a width of 1024 pixels be to much? ( 800 now) I want to get some
space for one column on the right, so I can put some more stuff.
i was also thinking to put some suptile flash animation in it to make
it a bit less static. For example, animate the logo to burn (the
burning smiley with horns ).

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Multi-posted to alt.html. Please cross-post if necessary, but don't
multi-post.

Now about your site, don't use fixed-width design, make it flexible.

After reviewing the situation, looked in the general direction of alt.www.webmaster and blew a mouthful of

Not at all. It's a nice, clean design - easy to read and easy to navigate. What more could you want?

except for http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...ww.spreha.net/

That is totally up to you. You know what works best for your target audience.

don't get hung up on fixed width design - it will drive you batty. Likewise, animations are distracting. Use them sparingly.

First, try a real newsreader and a news service, instead of the
crippled Google Groups, a mere web interface to Usenet. Then, put the
two groups in the TO: fields, just like you would send an email to two
different people.

What you did is like sending the same exact email to two separate
people, and expect that both of them will be able to see each other's
answer. Did you read the link I gave you?

Most of the time, you will get a sufficient answer by posting to only
one appropriate group...
