Default switching places with main website & add-on website on server

I'm about to switch places with 2 websites. Due to a name change, the
add-on domain now needs to be the main domain and the main domain
needs to be the add-on, since it's only a redirect site now..

The question is, before asking the provider to switch locations, to
keep from having down time, do I upload the add-on complete website to
the main server address along with the current website? Also, do I
also upload the complete main website to the add-on address, since I
only have 1 add-on available? Thanks for any insight!

This sounds like something you should ask your host.

Probably easiest if they do it for you too, as it will probably be as
simple as renaming a couple of directories at their end.

I had already ask for them to do it, but they were insisting I do the
switch. I finally contacted sales this morning and told them if they
couldn't get them switched without me getting involved with the
switch, I had someone else lined up that would do it for me this
afternoon, except it was another provider. Within an hour, the switch
had taken place & the ticket closed.

Thanks for the input.
