Default google adwords?

someone has asked me to look into google adwords for them.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good website/tutorial which gives good
guidance re putting together an adword listing.

Google itself.

I have had good results with them. Best thing is to make them punchy,
people will only glance at them at best.

meant to ask - does it take long for the visitors to start arriving, after
the ad has been posted, charles?

and what if the googlead is on say a villa rentals website, that has the
same keyords as a 100 other similar websites that use googleads too.

Instant.

You bid for the term. The highest price gets displayed at the top.
Mine were for real estate too. The rub here is that it's a highly
competitive, high value sector, so the ads can be pricey.

I think I settled at about 50p per click for one ad, which knocks big
lumps out of your budget!

I have a links page on my property site. It's not "in your face" but
the bots can find it easily enough. Give me a URL, description and
title, and I will make a link to you, which might help you in the search
engines.

Not all people :p

When I search google now I not only look at the search results but also see
what is over in adwords land ;0)
I have found just what I needed/wanted sometimes that way.

Yes, I do that too. As an advertiser (sometimes) it's pleasing to know
that people do that.

What I meant was to write somethng like:

Blank DVDs

Low prices

Quick delivery

Rather than:

KXcompsupplies.com

Established six years

Media, cases, consumables.
