Default Please help me help my web hosting company

I have problem with my email since July 12 and people in my hosting company
are not helping me (a satisfied customer for over 2 years) at all. I used my
GMail account to send an email to my account and got the following in my
GMail inbox . Please let me know what I can tell those, so called , tech
people. I can send email from GMail to other addresses.

Thanks.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

someadress@someserver.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 10): 550-wproxy.gmail.com [some IP
address]:45640 is currently not permitted to relay
550-through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap
server
550-in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in
your
550 email client.

That looks like they are blocking/censoring your incoming
email...specifically targetting incoming email from Gmail. I could be
wrong, as our sysop is the one who handles email issues for us, but that's
the way it reads to me.

Thanks, Tina.

I get the samething if I send from Yahoo too. I have not received any email
from anywhere since July 14 and have not been able to send any email from my
domain since July 12. This is the case for all the email accounts on the
domain.

And with all due respect, it's indirectly your fault, Tina

I believe they rely on blacklists and such to control some email issues.

With all due respect...why are you still with them?

Yes, I'd be interested to see that too, perhaps Mr Probert can help us!

I would say it was a very common term here to describe dodgy traders, "a
bunch of cowboys" is often used.

There are also cowboys at rodeos who do all manner of risky things. My
guess is the risk taking part of the meaning has been extended into
"dodgy". Cowboys can also be applied to certain users of the roads who
take risks.

"A bunch of cowboys" is also a quite commonly used expression in
Australia & NZ.

back to the lurk...

Some bovine rights group would take offense on behalf of their cows.
