Default GoDaddy/Starfield cert problems...

Checking the archives, I've seen some mixed reactions to these SSL
certs. I'm in the midst of trying to get one set up in a shared hosting
environment. It looks like it's all setup. I have several browsers which
already have Starfield setup as an intermediate, and none of them
complain when they go to my site, as expected. (I'm testing windows
versions of both FF and IE. The webserver is apache on red hat.)

A couple browsers don't recognize the intermediate certificate at all
and complain that "this is a site you've chosen not to trust". (I love
that wording. Couldn't they say, "you haven't YET chosen to trust?" It's
almost like the person has specifically blacklisted it.)

Another browser which didn't have Starfield listed paused for a while,
then looked like it was going to work. Except it then issued an error,
"Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is
not available." Afterwards, though, Starfield suddenly showed up on the
intermediate list, although the "revocation" error still pops up.

In a thread from May, someone said https://store.dirtylinen.com was set
up with one of these certs. To cross check my own setup, I tried the
same tests on this URL as my own. Guess what? Exact same results. The
"good" browsers displayed it. The bad browsers complained. And the
middle browser still churns for a while then delivers the message about
the missing revocation information.

I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Except maybe go buy a real
cert.

*sigh*

Any suggestions? Other experiences?
