| Civilians | ASP or ASP.net for server side code SQL Server if possible for back-end tables/views stored procedures Javascript for client-side code A reporting tool for web based reports I sell one at http://www.rptsoftware.com that works directly with Access reports otherwise Active Reports or Crystal reports (low-end) or there are about a half dozen high end reporting tools Migrating tables is easy, reports can be migrated to the web by using a reporting tool, the user interface for data entry is what usually causes the problems because not the app is web-based and different rules apply. Also learning curve issues moving to new languages etc... Lots of good third-party grids etc... My two cents, Mark PS: I would not use DAP (just my opinion) "Jobroni" <Jobroni@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7ACBDE18-F286-418F-9476-9A7495C0AC6A@microsoft.com... > Hi there - > I have standalone Access 2000 database (currently on a shared network) that > my bosses would like to run, be editable & dynamic on the Intranet. > I'm wondering what 3 programming languages can be used to do this, (ASP.NET? > SQL Server? etc) and which one is the best. > I have to recommend something to the bosses by tomorrow, and having 3 > options is the best way to go. > I've tried to look for the transfer process, but I'm running out of time. > I'd appreciate any advice you can give me. > Thank you! > Tara |
