Default ignoring web root

im building another site and would like to make front page ignore the web
root itself and upload into subdirectories. the web root will contain an
..asp based interactive forum and i dont want front page to attempt to
synchronize with it each time i upload static content to the subdirectories.
any tips on this would be appreciated. i know i could use sub webs with but
dont want to upload individually to each subweb on each update.

IIRC, in 02 it was one of the right-click options for the file. Might have
been/also been under the file menu after you selected the file. Don't recall
if you had to flag the file on both the source and the destination.
