Default Alternative to ASP

Hi,

I have been using a bit of simple ASP to handle a form to email page on my
website. I have now got another site but they host in Linux and I understand
ASP only works on windows servers.

Is there another simple way to get a form filled in on the site and get it
emailed to me.

Many thanks,

Paul.

Try CGI and perl, it should not be too difficult.

It rather depends on what the server supports. Discuss the matter with your
hosting provider.

Actually ASP works on a few other platforms too. There is a Sun version
of ASP, and something called MONO which is an OpenSource version of ASP
(and ASP.NET). Google for these when looking for hosts.

Dude, I don't know why anybody didn't suggest it but if you are using ASP
you probably want to look into PHP since it is structured the same. The
code itself is Perl-like. Check out www.php.net. Also if you go back to a
Windows host most of them support PHP nowadays (iHost does anyway).

Funny you should mention that... I've just downloaded and installed
phpDev after looking it up in a previous posting of his Anyway, I
have a couple of problems with it that I was just about to bring up in
another thread...
