Default something has to be wrong here, right?

Ok I have 2000Meg of space on this server

I have two packages, one gives each domain with that package 60meg
the other gives just one single domain 200meg

I have 17 domains using the 60 meg package which equals = 1020meg
and the one domain using 200meg brings it to 1220 meg

so why is it that with 2000 meg it is telling me there is no room left to
modify an
existing account or create a new account ?

copy/pasted from WHM:
Disk Space 2000 Megabytes 3220 (Allocated) -1220

How could I have 3220 meg allocated when only 1220 meg is actually allocated
and even less than that is physically being used???

I find it interesting also that 1220 is what is actually allocated yet 1220
is showing
as the - figure or amount I am over...

Thoughts?

Heidi

Perhaps you need to add DB space into that? I know on my hosting package
DB space is not listed in the control panel disk space manager, but it
is counted as part of the overall space allocation on the shared server.

My first thought would be that somewhere you allocated 2000Meg by
accident, and because that's the amount you have available, I'd say
you filled in 2000 somewhere, thinking the 'question' was "what's the
total of your available space", but really it was "how much are you
allocating to this account" or something?

Can't find any such place in my own WHM account though...

I think I see what the problem is but will have to talk to someone else
before I mess with it and they are not up yet...

The main account which is the reseller shows 2000 meg
The accounts which are underneath it, or created from that reseller are each
showing the package quotas
17X60mb and 1X200mb

However something is not being done right somewhere because it is giving the
main reseller domain all 2000mb
and not leaving any left over for added accounts.

That would explain why it says 3220 is being allocated when in reality only
1220 is allocated and that is also why it shows
-1220 over because the 1220 is the accounts placed by the main reseller.

gah this is too confusing. i am going to go bed and will fix this later when
I can talk to my more technically inclined friend LOL.

Thanks for the help Els. :0)

General point. Is the space shown for web files only? I suspect it
might be showing the spaced used for *everything* in your user directory
on the server, which would include log files and a whole host of other
stuff.

Without knowing your setup exactly, one thing to keep in mind is the
continuing saga of cPanel/WHM PITA quota issues.
This has been going on for months with them and they have constantly
received bugzilla reports on it.

Sometimes, the only thing that can fix it is your host running the
/scripts/fixquotas and then /scripts/updatenow
