Default help with css layout, please!

hi, I'm newbie and I hope in your help with a css layout!
I have a liquid page with 3 columns, with background-color only, works
fine; but I need in the same page to make a similar effect for the
title; more, I'll put two images with fixed size in the extreme left and
in the extreme right of the title...
It's simple to do with frameset, but I don't like frames, and I'll do
this with css if it's possible...
any help, idea, link? please!
thanks!!!
Fulvia

It's far better than my French, which is extremely "rusty".

The secret of css lay out is to understand the "box model". You lay out
the page by setting the properties of the boxes/divs. So you use float (or
positioning) to roughly align the design elements, and then use padding
(space inside the box) and margins (space outside the box) to do the fine
tuning.
