Default HTML within XHTML ?

Hey,

Do anyone know if most browser will support HTML within XHTML?
For example, an HTML table inside an XHTML table and vice versa.

Thanks,

XHTML and HTML are basically the same. However, if you declare your
document to be XHTML, and you serve it as such, then some browsers will
not render the HTML because it is not well formed.

The main difference between HTML and XHTML is that XHTML has all elements
and attributes in lowercase, all attributes must be quoted, and all
elements must be closed. For example, the BR element in HTML is never
closed, in XHTML, it must be closed, so: <br> (HTML) <br /> (XHTML).

I would say what is more imporatant is the DOCType, whether it be Strict
or Transitional. New documents should use Strict, and all presentational
markup should be removed to a stylesheet. Any javascript should also be
moved to an external script as well.

Additionally, if you do not have access to server side, and can read the
HTTP-Accept, then it is almost useless to use XHTML because IE cannot
accept "application XHTML/+xml", and only accepts "text/html"
