Default Registry Mechanic

I came across Registry Mechanic software.
Has anyone used it? Is it worth using?

I used it once a long time ago, to clean a computer that was bogging down
for no reason. I'd already run AdAware and Spybot, and it turned out
there were thousands of registry entries pointing to files which no longer
existed.

Seemed to work well enough. I haven't really needed it since then; if you
clean your computer regularily, you shouldn't get to the point where
you'll need it IMHO.

I love it. The free version doesn't do much but the paid version is
great.

Not that I would ever do such a thing )
....but I hear that it pays for itself if you use it to extend your virus
definitions subscriptions, by completely uninstalling the software,
running Registry Mechanic to clean the registry and then reinstalling
the anti-virus software.
