Default linkSpheic stable launch & RFC

linkSpheric our new link management/directory software has been declared
stable. it's been deployed on 4 ISPs so far, the latest being GoDaddy,
although we had to set a path_info variable differently for GoDaddy because
they did something strange with path_info over there.

we've got a ways to go, some features to enhance and we still have to do
validation compliance, but it's as close to standards-based as we can make
it.

the toughest part was keeping beta testers on track. we started out with
six and good old Viper was the only one that stuck it out. many thanks
Viper. we're up to V0.60, we'll send you V0.90 with some new features this
weekend.

your comments and input are appreciated as always and we still need beta
testers, so here's your chance to get a hold of some great software for
free.

the Godaddy deployment is www.artistlist.net

the Hostway deployment is at www.think4inc.com/directory

Viper's deployment at JWSHosting is at www.morelinks.info

and the product pages are at www.dataSpheric.com/services/software/ls

if anyone wants to tour the admin section just let me know. tia for your
feedback.

Ah! So that's the difference between a "valid usenet announcement" and
"spam", ensure that Viper is involved/favourable with the product.

Perhaps the FAQ should be updated to reflect this subtle
clarification?

Matt

Naturally. (Spammers are very jealous, and Viper gets most upset when
someone tries to trade on his patch.)

no, in fairness, he should go after me with all the venom of a viper, but i
have no direct control over him.
