YAHOO SBC SUCKS

Ok I have Yahoo SBC DSL

Try to find out about how I upload my website.

Find out I have to go to Yahoo Geocities.

I go there and Login. Find out I have to upload every single file ONE AT A
TIME
My web site 108 files, 21 folders. But it's only 2 MB!

Oh but wait I can upgrade to get to use FTP 5 bucks a month on top of the
monthly DSL fee. What a rip off you suck SBC/Yahoo/whatever.

Does anyone know a good free web hosting I only need like 5 mbs

SBC is a phone company. They do the phone part great (DSL connectivity).
They do the ISP part crappy and always have. Their own servers, then
prodigy, then yahoo.

Luckily I dont sweat that. I run my own server and dont rely on any ISP.
Unlimited email accounts, no storage limits or size limits on email, no
space or bandwidth or use restrictions on web space, unlimited FTP, add any
feature to my domains that I want to, and no ads.

To me.. doing the web stuff is harder than doing the server stuff.

The opposite for me, the server stuff tends to be time consuming and the web
stuff is a breeze.

I ended up going with a managed dedicated server on a 10mbps unmetered
connection buffed up with 1.5GB of RAM. No cookie cutter Plesk or cPanel box
either - you really start to learn a whole lot quicker once you have to
start doing everything via SSH console.

I find I can do about half the adminning myself - but I end up falling back
and logging tickets when I start running out of time and getting in over my
head. I can easily lose a couple of days doing system admin work and getting
very little done if I don't watch it.

Well I guess that must be true because Ive had the server for 5 years. Of
the 6 domains I put on it I would consider one of them "done" and the other
5 still say "coming soon"

But I couldnt consider doing without a server now. Its just a junk computer
sitting in the kitchen with no monitor or keyboard but it totally removes
all ISP headaches from me
