If I want to read about the latest CD I don't want to wait for 30 seconds for some flash loading with music snippets through what I am currently listening. Moreover, what me amazes me time after time is that so many so called fan sites are often way more professional than the so called official band sites. A "good" example is System of a Down's website. Although that one has recently had an update (not much better though). > Too much video/animation/branding. | Civilians | SpaceGirl wrote > True, and gig dates/news will be available via subhuman.net Morning delicious. Why not make subhuman.net a very basic simple HTML site (useable by all browsers known to man) and offer a conventional HTML link to it from Garbage.com? Dare I say (you won't like this) a "text only" version? You've got all the bells and whistles on Garbage.com so you would be doing yourself a favour (creativity, time, maintenance) to make subhuman text only. Otherwise subhuman would be like a near copy of garbage.com, which is pointless, but to make it a real alternative, could provide value. Then there's all your PDA users, and mobile phone surfers, students, young people etc wanting news or dates on their phone, they will love you for very quick clear delivery of that. Some will say that maintaining two sites is a waste, but you have already indicated that you will be doing that, so there is no loss in that regard. -- Charles Sweeney http://CharlesSweeney.com |

Perhaps - the way subhuman.net works lends itself to text-only. I wont do crosslinks tho, we need that site to be independant. > Dare I say (you won't like this) a "text only" version? Subhuman.net already partially works on PDAs. I have the tagboard (for example) as a fave on my XDA, which I check on the train. > Some will say that maintaining two sites is a waste, but you have > already indicated that you will be doing that, so there is no loss in > that regard. Running two sites is not an issue. |
