Default Using a domain grabber service?

Hello

I have been after a domain name for two years.
It will probably come available again later this year.
Companies (who don't ever use it) grab it before I can
get my hands on it even staying up all night trying
to register it when it would back on the free market.

I tried to buy it from the first company that grabbed
it but they never returned my emails, maybe they
couldn't read english?? The second comapny (eurobox out of
russia) has it now (not using it) and I have made them an offer
for the name but haven't heard from them yet.

I have been checking domain registar outfits, that (for a fee)
promise to grab a domain name as soon as it is available.

I am wondering if anyone here has used such an outfit
and if you did, what was your experience with them?
Did they manage to get your name that you wanted??
Or are they just another internet scam to separate a small
fee from trusting people.

I would appreciate any feedback

Thank you
Helaman

I've used domain back ordering services before and was successful every
time... if you aren't sure about payng for such a service, just think about
how much it costs versus the value of your time to sit there and keep
hitting "refresh" over and over again on a WHOIS page.

If you have any sort of legitimate claim to the domain name you could file a
claim against the name (UDRP) and ask for it to be transferred in your name.

I once used godaddy's name-grabber service and successfully scored the name
the moment it was available. But I don't think there was any competition for
it (an obscure place-name).
