I have used a number of registrars (that's who you register domain names
through) and I have found http://GoDaddy.com to be about the best.
They're prices are amongst the lowest, yet their service is very good.

They are American which means due to the high exchange rate, your .com
name will only cost you about five or six quid!

They also have lots of hosting/forwarding options, and again with the
good exchange rate, it might be a very good idea to get a hosting
account too for your website. You would then simply copy your web files
to the new host.

UK Reg is pretty good ~ www.ukreg.com ~ its 2.95 GBP per year for a uk
domain and they do forwrding etc for free. Have used them for a few
years with no problems.

I used them for a few years. Considering it's run by farcehosts, they
pretty much did their job. I recently moved my domains from them due to
their thoroughly arrogant "customer service", and an infuriating
"support" system when trying to deal with my problem.

I moved to GoDaddy who were a breath of fresh air. Straight away you
know you are the customer, and that you are valued.

FWIW ukreg is not a .com registrar, they resell for Tucows.

Just following this thread and have a couple of questions

1) is it "framed" forwarding. What URL do users see?

2) What is "masking"
