| Civilians | Well, I got some awesome feedback from this group on musolist.com and I implemented many of the changes. Would it be possible for you SEO gurus out there to take another look and let me know what you think? http://musolist.com/ eT |

It's a site concept crying out to be done with a simple css layout. It's precisely the sort of design that would not only be more compact that way, but it would actually be easier to do. I expect to be able to find a list of cities when I click on the country link. Also it really ought to be a link to the "UK" not to "England". Once you have the basics then it's time to look at expanding the venues section and starting to look at link exchanges with venues. After that you need to look at music shops. A decent start on those two and you should have at least a good shot at a clear first place on Goodle for quite a few useful search terms on a long term basis. It's getting there. It's also a useful site. -- eric www.ericjarvis.co.uk "live fast, die only if strictly necessary" |

There's also a lot you could do by looking for tie ups with music shops. Keep it simple to use and make it easy to find when needed and there are big gaps in the market. -- eric www.ericjarvis.co.uk "live fast, die only if strictly necessary" |

| Civilians | G .. thanks for the kind words and all the help. >From what I understand I am to use <div> tags for absolute positioning .... i.e. define all the absolute positions of my different "table cells" and dump all my info into that? I am going for the newspaper - are you suggesting that I go with 400 width for ads as opposed to 500? eT |

You don't have to use absolute positioning. You can also use relative positioning and floating depending on what is required. In this case I suspect no absolute positioning is required at all. > I am going for the newspaper - are you suggesting that I go with 400 > width for ads as opposed to 500? > I would use em units and size the div to have around the same number of words per line as a newspaper small ad, maybe a little wider. You need the width relative to both the text size and the window size in this case, which is impossible, so I'd take the text size as the priority since that affects readability as well as the look. -- eric www.ericjarvis.co.uk "live fast, die only if strictly necessary" |
