Default Site Improvements

Hi

A couple of months back I posted my site for review. Since then (and alot of
constructive feedback) I have done some big changes ditching the JavaScript
and iframes in exchange for css (menus / divs etc). I even lost the ugly
dreamweaver menus replacing them css menus that degrade into bullet lists
for older / non-compliant browsers.

This has made my site load alot quicker but I would appreciate some
independent views on the site load time.

http://www.websiteoptimization.com says:

http://www.thecocktaillab.com - 3.74s @ 56k
http://www.thecocktaillab.com/homepage.php - 8.11s @ 56k

I would like to make it quicker but if it loads in about 8sec on a 56k
connection I'm happy.

Thanks
GG

Loads faster, I guess, but it's still an ugly table-based layout. I won't
even comment on the graphics.

It loads fast.

May I enquire, what's with this "Are you of legal drinking age in your
home country? (UK 18 or over). By clicking 'No' all searches will hide
alcoholic cocktails!" ?

Are you unaware that children can drink in the home in the UK quite
legally? But that aside, isn't it a bit nannyish to "hide" the
alcoholic cocktails from children?

A shame, because otherwise I like the site - although blue text of one
shade on a blue background of another is going to severely screw the
colour blind!

For some reason many sites which use a black background also use dark text
colors. You don't get enough contrast and you end up with some hard to read
text.

- I find a link called 'Links' always useless. Links to what? And the
tooltip says 'link page links'. Even more useless.

- So if I say I am 18 years or older, it says drink filter is on and it's
off when I am under 18. Is it that backwards?

- Search button doesn't look like a button or something clickable.
