Selling web scripts

Hey all My question. I over the years have being buying web scripts on the net.
Can I sell them to clients.

That depends on the license the script was sold to you under. The answer
will be different for each script.

Yes - you can usually sell implementations, but NOT reselling them
directly usually.

If it's not explicitly stated in the licence that you may sell them on, you
should always contact the author to find out.

I would suspect since you paid for them they are your and you should be
able to do what you want with them. Especially if it was a custom script
that was made specifically for you.

Only if the original license specifically *allows* it.

Marek, you are essentially saying that if I purchase a license for ..
for example .. an accounting application for my business, I can resell
it to another company. This is wrong.

Exactly.

I write CGI applications for a living; If I write one specifically for you
(generic 'you', of course), then it is for you to *use*, not to resell as
your work.
