Default my new site is online

I launched the preview version last night. Comments welcome;

http://www.subhuman.net

There are some... um... bugs (text mistakes as well!) which will be
fixed at lunch today... too many other things to do this morning

Feel free to pick it to peices. Fixed font sizes, fixed sized console,
flash, heavy graphics. You name it, it's in there

That's hardly a helpful comment on the Website now, is it? This thread
was not for discussing your musical tastes.

That said, I agree with everything that Els mentioned. I also noticed
that there seems to be a problem with the text "articles to display" at
the bottom of the left-hand scrolling div, in that it is partially
hidden beneath the large yellow 'G'. I would consider increasing the
left margin for this text.

Thanks for the feedback!

That was a deliberate effect (to go with the "junk" feel of the site),
but I'd missed the fact that it obscures the bottom of the scrolling
div! Oops. Thanks for that

I'm not qualified to comment on the design, however, using IE6 in a
maximised 1024x768 window there appears to be too much black border,
and in an 800x600 maximised window it scrolls horizontally.

Maybe something to look at?

Personally, I think "This site is best viewed with" type notations are
very poor form, unless you're a Firefox affiliate, I'd lose the button
advert and particularly the "best viewed with" hover text.

Oh, and I do like that bloody annoying, totally appropriate bluebottle
wandering about!

Everyone is qualified to comment on design You either like it or you
don't... You're right about the icons across the bottom. They look messy
anyway. They will be integrated into the design, and "best viewed with"
will go. I'll just run the affiliate icon. Scrolling is something I'm
looking into for sure. It seems to be the biggest complaint so far.

Happily, since 10pm last night we've had over 200 people sign up for
membership despite their being very little content yet. I'm amazed! I
guess I must be pressing a few buttons.
