Default Why is my web page on someone else's site!?!/ whats a 'referer'?

I am new to web hosting. My host uses webalizer and it lists under
referers another site name with my page on it. I went to the site and
found my web page that I designed on it. wtf is this crap!? I
thought I would post this first before calling my attorney as I am
very new at this.

The "Referer" http header is (theoretically at least) the page that the
user came to your site from.

That's interesting. The page must still actually have links to your site
on it!

If they have stolen your work, your first line of defence should be to
contact them and ask them to remove it. If they either say no, or just
take no action within a reasonable period of time, contact their host
and ask them to take action. If still nothing happens, *then* think
about contacting your lawyer (if you think it's worth it).

Thanks Mark,

I do plan to use the lawyer only a last resort. I guess I just got a
little exited..
what is strange is that I just updated my page on the server, and when
I went to the other web site, it has my page updated as well
anyone seen this before/ have any ideas what is going
on?

Sounds like maybe they are putting your page into a frame. Impossible to
tell without a URL.

Unsure ... but you may want to read up about META refresh and 302
hijacking. Part of the instances are accidental - some are not though.

Also may want to check if your contents are being presented in a
frame; if so - then you may want to use the break out frames
javascript.

While sitting in a puddle Mark Parnell scribbled in the mud:

What kind of hosting do you have. Might ask your host about it.
