Default 123-reg vs. Freeparking vs Godaddy

I really don't know what to choose.

Bad things I have heard

- Freeparking has lost people's email in the past (before forwarding)
due to spam control problems
- Godaddy is owned by a christian bible basher. Once they sell you a
product they keep spamming you with messages bugging you to buy more
products.

What I'm looking for : www.myname.org.uk so I give out my email address
as mail@myname.org.uk (which is then forwarded to myname@kcl.ac.uk). It
would be nice if I could have domain name forwarding (WITHOUT BANNERS!)
and also a very small amout of webspace (but I suppose this is too much
to ask for free.

I have heard I can change my uni email (myname@kcl.ac.uk) so the
"Reply-to" is mail@myname.org.uk - this can be my email address for the
rest of my life and will look more professional than a hotmail address
etc.

Surely any web hosting account will allow you the facility to
automatically forward emails to an address?

So, you register your domain name. Rent some hosting, and just set up
an email forwarding from there to your university account (or
wherever).

Try OnlineNIC. They're very good and simple.

Re GoDaddy - I have used their registration services for going on two years.
I have received one (1) unsolicited message from them in that time, and that
was to announce the ICANN decision about locking domains. I don't care if
the owner is a Druid (Reformed or Orthodox), as the service has been
reliable and all of my inquiries have been answered in a professional
manner. Any good organization will give you the option of receiving or not
receiving promotional messages.

George

Could you please elaborate on the differences.

Reformed Druids allow the use of electric guitars in their musical
services.
