Default Link exchange spam, cons

<rant>
I am sick and tired of these emails, they all follow the same pattern,
thus:

Dear Site Owner,

My name is [name] and I am the webmistress of [domain]

We are in the process of creating link partnerships with high
quality [subject]-related sites and I feel like your site would be
a great resource for my visitors.

I have already placed a link to your site along with a
description at...

[url]

This page currently has a large number of links, but will be
greatly reduced in size within the next 7 days as sites that
don't link back will be removed.

If you would consider linking to [domain]
from your own website, I would be more than happy to increase
your listing to "premium status," which will always ensure that
your listing appears on the original page but, will also be
added to our New Preferred Partners Page.

Thank you and best regards.

Betty

P.S. This is a one-time email request. We respect your privacy
and will never email you again.

P.P.S. If you'd like your description changed just let me know
and I'll have it changed within 48 hours.

P.P.S. If you have any questions feel free to visit our FAQ page
at [domain]/FAQ.htm

And are completely unrelated, to the Probert Encyclopaedia!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Thank you for listening <g>

</rant>

Matt

If your encyclopaedia doesn't list "widget glass", you're reading the wrong encyclopaedia.

P.P.P.S By "one-time" we mean that we'll only email you again tomorrow
or the day after, but never more than once in an hour. Well, maybe or
perhaps, but I dunno. It depends on how long it takes for our spa...

Incidentally.

Dear Matt,

I make no effort to create link partnerships with anyone. I have placed a
link to The Probert Encyclopedia on my site purely so that I can find it
easily from any computer. Any attempt to reciprocate that link will be
treated with utter contempt and possibly verbal abuse.

Thank you and best regards.

eric

P.S. This is a one-time Usenet statement. I'm a lazy sod and won't post
it again.

P.P.S. If you'd like your description changed just sod off.
