.htaccess passwords

Hi,

I am having problems figuring out how to generate encrypted password files
for my .htpasswd file to use with .htaccess. I know my .htaccess file is
functioning because it is redirecting error messages properly. My web host
godaddy.com says the don't support passwords. I think I just the need the
correct seed value to use with a password encrypter program. I have tried
many .htaccess password encrypters but they each create a different
password. I assume that they are all using a different seed value. Anybody
have any ideas on how to solve this?

Get a host that supports that?

They dont support password protected directories ?? Time for a new
host. I use a set of cgi scripts called htpasswrd or htpassword I
forget now, but I can find it for you if you need it.
