Default General question regarding software sales online (or any sales for that matter)...

We're setting up a new site for a partnership venture we've joined up
with a third-party software vendor, and we have been issued 3,500
licenses at an introductory pricing level until the end of the year -
this means the product s basically 25% off for single copies, and
about 20% off the 5 user license pack - now to present this to the end
user buyer, assuming you are such - are you more likely to purchase
using a coupon code during checkout, or if the pricing is via
"special" account login and password?

I'm suspicious of both.
BTW... why would I purchase a 5 user pack instead of 5 individual copies?

Cause you save money? a 20% discount on a 5 user pack might still be
cheaper than a 25% discount on 5 individuals ?

coupon gives the impression of cheap and nasty whereas a user/pass login
is something special.

if your product is for the common riffraff on lower incomes use coupons.
if its for the more discerning client on a high income use user/pass and
don't even hint at the word 'coupon'.

Yes, a 5 pack is discounted from 5 individual, even at retail...

This is the pricing model:

1 copy = $39 retail
5 copies = $152 retail

during special pricing period:

1 copy = $29
5 copies = $125

regards

Greg
