Then get an FTP client. Open your FTP client, put in the instructions you received from your host, optionally navigate to the folder your host specifies as the "public" folder, and upload the files on your computer. You should make sure the initial, or "home" page, is named index.html . -- Adrienne Boswell Please respond to the group so others can share http://www.arbpen.com |

After you make the website, you can publish it to a empty folder (like d:/folder/), or publish it to web hosting by FTP. |

| Civilians | George, You haven't supplied enough information to give an intelligent answer to your question.. Doing a Domain Name search I find this URL is available so it means that you haven't got it registered... That would be one of your first requirements.. Generally this will cost around $15.00 a year.. That will have to be done in order for a Host (Host provider is one that maintains your data on their server and accesses the Internet for your website) to establish your presence on the Internet.. There are a number of Hosts that can do this for you and the best method to find one is use Google and just type in Web Host and you'll get a lot of sources to do this for you.. They all vary in cost and what they are able to do for you but just starting out doesn't mean you have to have a sophisticated setup to start your website.. A good site to give you some basic information on how to set up a website can be accessed by clicking here http://www.kidcompute.com/makeawebsite.html Hope this helps..
