Default Shopping Carts/Commerce

Many thanks to everyone that has been advising me on this god forsaken site
I have tried to get up and running.

I have been advised to use the Mals Cart (Ithink)....but someone has just
emailed me and recommended to use www.OsCommerce.com software.

Which, in anyones opinion would be the better software....

Steve

I love it. http://store.dirtylinen.com/ is a recent project of mine, a rather
heavily-modified osC installation (the client wanted a lot of custom stuff done

Very extensible, not hard at all to get support through the forums, and just in
general a well-written piece of software.

Unfortunately almost all osCommerce sites look exactly the same because the
code and template are mixed up together far too much, whereas it should use
some sort of templating system where at the very least you can specify a
page header and footer to make it look nice.

I did exactly this with this site http://www.outdooraction.co.nz/ and
although it doesn't use a lot of the features of osCommerce it actually
looks nice. Took a lot of work but it was worth it. I'm not so sure I'll
use osCommerce again. The database structure is pretty good but I'm not so
sure the code behind it is all that hot.
