Luis, He said to see ask a lawyer - not in one of the law-related newsgroups. If you want a good answer, expect to pay for it - especially when it comes to legal and/or financial issues. Usenet advice is worth about what you pay for it. And since you're talking about someone familiar with the law in two countries (and different states have different laws, also), it's going to cost you a little more. But going ahead without accurate advice could cost you a LOT more. -- To reply, delete the 'x' from my email Jerry Stuckle, JDS Computer Training Corp. jstucklex@attglobal.net Member of Independent Computer Consultants Association - www.icca.org |

But I was hoping someone would point me in the right direction (eg. suggest me a lawyer that is a specialist in this sort of thing or someone that has has this experience and tell me who to inquire about it). |

Luis, Your best direction is to start locally. Here in the US, the Bar Association has a lawyer referral service - call them, tell them what you need, and they'll refer you to someone who's familiar with that area. Barring that, check with friends, etc. Or check your phone book. Call some; a good lawyer, if he/she isn't familiar with raffles, international law, etc., will refer you to someone who is. You could get an attorney in the U.S. but you'll pay through the nose. Better to start locally. -- To reply, delete the 'x' from my email Jerry Stuckle, JDS Computer Training Corp. jstucklex@attglobal.net Member of Independent Computer Consultants Association - www.icca.org |
