Default Access and WebCT

Hi:

I teach an online course for beginner database students. It is delivered via a
system called "WebCT" through our local community college. I have taught this
course successfully for a few years now. The book and data files have not been
changed since the campus upgraded to Office XP about a year and a half ago.
This week I started a new course with a new version of WebCT. Suddenly, I
cannot open the data files. Some of my students are able to open them, but I
am unable to open their homework submissions (mdb files). I get an error
message that says:

"Microsoft Access cannot open this file. This file is located outside your
intranet or an untrusted site. MS will not open this file due to potential
security problems. To open the file copy it to your macine or an accessible
network location."

Well, I have copied them. They've been downloaded as mbd files to my hard
drive. I've tried rebooting and trying to open them without an active internet
connection. No go.

I have a call in to our campus WebCT administrator to see what she can figure.
I've looked through the MSKB and the only aritcle I can find on this error
message seems to think that I'm trying to access a database while it is still
on a remote server. That is not the case. I have copied the mdb file to my
machine.

I was wondering if anyone on this board MIGHT have any experience with this
error and/or with WebCT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your patience reading my
SOS!!

Betsy

Your admin should get a response back from WebCT, but you should also try

==============================

Thank you for this great reference. I've got a workaround for now, but
hopefully will get to the root of the problem with the help of resources like
this.
