Hello Charles

Makes me wonder as well. They have obviously seen the product online so why
not buy it there and then, I suppose it takes a great deal of time to open a
nochex account ;-)). Sums up the society of 'cant be bothered' we seem to
live in.

You seem like a knowledgeable person Charles so what is be your opinion on
my original question ???????

TIA
S.

You must be thinking about someone else!

I have no experience of Nochex, but as you describe it, it sounds
reasonable and feasible.

I have used/still use these third-party processors (I'm in the UK btw)
which you might like to consider. Very easy to set up:

For non-tangible goods http://clickbank.com

For tangible goods http://ccnow.com/

ccnow have a good shopping cart included, everything is powered from
their site, you just add some code to yours.

I have received various responses to the question I asked. I have been told
that it is illegal as I would be impersonating the card holder and what I
was contemplating would be fraud.

Hopefully the site will take off and I will be able to give the bank a
little more info.

many thanks for the sites I will take a look.

The only way I can imagine that being fraud, is if you took a different
amount from that proposed to the customer.....
By giving you their card details and purchasing goods from you, haven't they
entered into a contract with you, giving you permission to process the
payment on their behalf.....
I know a lot of e-commerce sites in the UK operate this way......I'm not
sure what country you're posting from, so I guess the law might be different
where you are.....

Hello Sam

I am from the UK.

I have been advised that it may well constituted fraud because I am opening
an account in their name and using their card, address etc etc.

I would be interested to try and find out the legal side if anyone has any
ideas.

Aaaah, I didn't
realise you'd have to open an account in their name....

Actually, upon investigation, there don't seem to be many
non-merchant-account solutions that don't require a customer to create an
account first.....

There's a real need in the UK for a cheap, simple and fast solution for
taking online payments.....I think the problem lies mainly with the main
merchant banks, who despite all the recent anti-fraud measures that have
been introduced, still think CNP transactions are a huge risk......

In short, the banks are suppressing E-Commerce in this country, and as a
result, more and more online shopping trade is being sent to sites based in
the US and Europe, who aren't afraid to export to us.....

Whilst you're on the subject Sam.

Yesterday I read through your protx posts, very good information indeed.

Now that you have been using them for a while, how are they shaping up?

For me, I think the "VSP SERVER" would be best. Which one do you use? Any
observations?

Cheers.
