Default Suggestions for cgi guestbook script replacement or modifications

I had a guestbook script set up from Matt's archive which worked
fine for years. Lately I have had problems with spammers leaving
their crap on it, and although it's easy enough to clean it all out
every day, I'd like to prevent it in the first place. Banning ip
addresses wont work, so I have changed to another script recently
which filters for bad words, but all it does is replaces them
with **** which is only a partial solution.

What I'd like is a script that reacts to problem words by generating
an error message or clearing the form and asking the submitter to
resubmit the form. Alternatively, if someone could guide me in
changing how my existing script reacts to bad words to suit my needs
(it's bnbbook.cgi by the way)

I need something that will allow me to customise the guestbook pages
to match the look of the rest of my site. I've tried Google etc etc
Have tried modifying the script myself, only succeeded in stopping it
working:-(

Guestbook concerned is here

Regards and Thanks
Peter J

I have also posted this to the comp.infosystems.www.authoring.cgi group,
but thought I should also try here in view of the fact that other webmasters
are bounf to have grappled with this issue. Would have crossposted this
but that doesn't seem to work :-(

Global Centre guest book is the one you want. FREE - filters quite nicely,
contains all the bells you want and has a good admin area. Easy to
customise look and feel - uses html templates and more useful, you can set
all entries to be moderated, so you can ok them before they appear.

Available at http://www.global-centre.com/services/scripts/
