Default Any Company Selling Internet Phone Number?

I forgot where I saw it, but it was like real phone which has a local phone
number and the phone is attached to Internet directly or via a special box.
Unlike other IP phones, this service can receive calls.

I did google search, but only found pagoo, which does not provide this
serivice any more. There is also a company called ZipGlobal
http://zipglobal.com/localnumbers.html

They charge an up front fee of 10 to 30 dollars. If I am correct, there
should be a software based system exactly like this but no activation fees.
Anyone knows?

Any feedback on zipglobal is good as well, because if I can not find any, I
will use them.

You're probably thinking of Vonage.com or voicepulse.com

Both look more professional than http://zipglobal.com/localnumbers.html
But both's cheapest plans are $15 per months. I just want to use it to
receive calls mainly. That is too expensive.
It is best if there is no monthly fee, but only a per minute charge. If
zipglobal can waive the activation fee, I will try them first.

i put three companies' names together to search on google, and i got those:

http://voxilla.com/modules.php?op=mo...9&allstories=1

Finally, I have decided to use this:
http://www.xten.com/index.php?menu=p...&smenu=compare the lite one is a
softphone, then I can configure the softphone to receive zipgloble service.
With the software, the activation charge is 10 rather than the 30. Monthly
fee is 4.95. Nice deal.
