Default Frontpage and Firewalls

Hello all!

I have a client that has a Linksys Firewall/Router that attaches to
ComCast and then port forwards web and exchange to MS SBS2k3.
Everything works great but I can't get Frontpage to edit the site.
I'm pretty sure I'm not opening/forwarding the right ports FP needs.

Alas, I have googled my way around but still can't get a straight
answer on what ports FP needs. I'm hoping you folks can point me in
the right direction.

Thanks,
Mark

Hello!

If you are publishing to a FrontPage extened server (when you publish you
type http://<servername>/... then the only port you use is 80.

If you are publishing to a server using FTP (passive or active) then you
will be using port 20 & 21.

Are you receiving and error? Please include the exact text.
What version of Windows is being used? If XP or NT, are there errors in the
Application or System error log?
Can you publish from a different machine?
Can you open the web on that client machine in FrontPage, make a change, and
save successfully?
Can you publish to any other webs (i.e. try one of the free ones)?

You might allow clear text authentication on that website. Sometimes FP
will balk if you try to hit the server from behind a firewall or proxy. On
some devices, windows authentication will not be passed through.
