Post Re: Remains found at WWI 'mass grave'

Thanks for all the good information. If you would like to help me more I sure would appreciate it. I am not that computer knowledgeable so I don't know how to search sights, I am still trying to figure this one out.
World War 1 Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918>Alabama>Jefferson County>2 Draft Card T Jessie Hubert Thomas born in Partridge,Al. on July 07,1894. he had blue eyes & light hair and medium build. He was white and had a skin disease. He was single and did farming for himself at Rt. 2, Warrior,Al. He was in the USA Army and I don't know any of his military information. His Father was Lonzo L.Thomas and his Mother was Frances M. Thomas. I heard he was killed in France Sept. 13, 1918 and buried in Germany but I don't how accurate that info. is. Thanks again for your time and all your help. Glynda

Glynda -
I'll try to teach you about this.

I want you to place your cursor (the little arrow that moves around) directly on the following series of letters and words, and click the mouse.

Military Personnel Records

You will then have access to the national military personnel records, where, if Mr. Thomas was in fact in the Army during WWI, his information will be found.

If you are a next-of-kin, then you can get access to the records far more easily than anyone else can.

I'll keep looking for you, but it doesn't take too long for you to get used to doing the research all by yourself. The fact that you got to Trackpads, and know how to do at least a little something online, tells me that you can do this research.

Just go to the sites (by clicking the mouse on the highlighted words), and then simply experiment by clicking on other highlighted words, and pretty soon you are as confused as everyone else is!

But, you may also find Jess Hubert Thomas.

Post Re: Remains found at WWI 'mass grave'

Thank you Bluehawk, you have been most helpful. I have spent hours and hours and days trying to find the information on Jessie Hubert Thomas but came up with very little. Today you got me on the road to success. I got into his military records and found his listing, his regiment, his division, the date he was killed and the territory he fought in, the cemetery he was buried in, the plot, row and grave number. The cemetery is absolutly beautiful, the prettiest I have ever seen. My dad would have been so happy to have had all this information. I copied about 25 pages with pictures and sent them to my brother and sister today. I called them on the phone and gave them the news and they were so happy also. You have no idea how much this means to us after so many years without any information. Thanks again you will never know how much a little help will help someone else so far down the road to success. Hey!

That is wonderful news!

For fun, please tell us where Jesse fought, and what his units were and so forth.

A lot of people here are interested in those kinds of things.
