Default Free tickets for Tiger’s D.C. tourney

Free tickets for Tiger’s D.C. tourney

Staff report
Posted : Wednesday Jun 27, 2007 17:56:09 EDT

Free tickets for active-duty military members are still available for the second round of Tiger Woods’ golf tournament July 6 at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
Military personnel will receive special seating behind the greens and hospitality tents for the Earl Woods Memorial Pro-Am Tournament, part of the AT&T National PGA Tour, scheduled for July 3-8.
Woods created the event in honor of his late father, an Army lieutenant colonel who served in Vietnam.
“It’s very important to me that this tournament honor the men and women who serve in our armed forces,” Woods told the American Forces Press Service. “They put their lives on the line so that we are able to enjoy our freedom, and we’d love for them to come out and enjoy a few days of relaxation. Our intent is to honor and really thank the people that protect us.”
Woods donated the 30,000 free tickets for the second round, which can be picked up at Pentagon’s ITT/ITR Ticket Office. Military members can also pick up tickets at local bases in the D.C. area. More information can be found on the ticket office Web site.
Tickets priced at $20 for daily play July 3-6 and $25 for the final two rounds are also available at the ticket offices.
