Post Combat action earns you more VA benefits, too

Combat action earns you more VA benefits, too

If you leave the Air Force and have received the Air Force Combat Action Medal, you’re eligible for additional benefits from the Veterans Affairs Department, according to a VA press release.
Any airman who earned the medal qualifies for two years of free VA medical care once the airman leaves the service. For more information, go to http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/eligibility/CombatActionMedal.asp.
The Air Force grants the Combat Action Medal to airmen who took part directly in ground or air combat since Sept. 11, 2001

I found out something about the college fund the army pays for from my son in law that I didn't know before. If you sign up for Combat Arms, you qualify for more money. He was in Artillery and got his BS with his GI bill. This was about 10 years ago and I don't know if its still the same or not.

same across the board now, unless you recieve a higher schore on the ASVAB or enter into a job that they are trying to fill at the time be it combat arms or truck driver just needs of the Army. But you can put and additional $600 in to your MGIB and in return recive $6000 towards your education. I dont know what the plan is called but they offered it to me while I was in I wish I wouldn't have passed on it now.
