PGA pro offers round of golf to wounded

Wounded warriors who would like a free trip to play a round of golf with PGA Tour player Corey Pavin can register through Oct. 15.
The wounded service member who is selected will receive free round-trip airfare to and from Dallas-Fort Worth airport, and will fly in Oct. 24 and leave Oct. 26. Airfare, hotel accommodations and meals will be paid for by Operation Homefront, a nonprofit charity serving 31 military communities in 34 states. Transportation to and from the airport and golf course also will be provided.
TPC Craig Ranch, near Dallas, will hold the event and cover all fees to golf, including the golf cart, lunch and dinner, according to officials with Operation Homefront.
Pavin has chosen to be an official spokesman for Operation Homefront.
“Operation Homefront is honored that Corey Pavin would not only personally help us support the troops, but also spread the word to his fans worldwide,” said Amy Palmer, executive vice president of operations and development for the nonprofit group. “Service members watching Mr. Pavin this season from tents in Iraq or mess halls on board ships now have extra reason to cheer him on.”
A panel of judges from TPC Craig Ranch, the PGA Tour, and Operation Homefront will choose the winning service member. The short registration form asks for name, address, contact information, unit, date of injury, branch of service, and a short statement about why you should be selected for the event.
