Good morning all! There is fresh, hot, steaming double Irish on the bar, both regular and unleaded. There is also a pot of hot, spoon-melting orderly room coffee prepared for those who prefer it. Help yourselves.

Good morning Sir Blue! Another lovely day in the neighborhood. Clear and crisp, but very cool. I keep my thermostat set at 64, and the furnace kept going on and off so I know it's a chilly morning. I have to go in early today, so I'll probably be leaving in a few minutes. If I don't speak to you again till later, have a great day.

Twice I was a presiding officer in an organization. My second gavel and sounding block are made of Purple Heart wood. Absolutely beautiful color and grain! Polished the wood looks totally awesome. What a beautiful touch for the Saloon Sir Blue.

Sally pours a cup of double Irish and sips. Have a good day SFGA.

Thanks Sally... not many people know about Purple Heart wood.

I learned about it the "hard" way, literally... by attempting to prune an overhanging branch off my garage one day.

Nice wood, eh?

I'm one of those who never heard of it before, Sally and Sir Blue. Is it known by another other name? Which tree does it come from, I guess is what I'm really asking here. It sounds beautiful; I love different types of wood.
